Welcome to míde connect, an interdisciplinary network for professional women working in physical activity, exercise, and sport on the island of Ireland. Our network is a dynamic, inclusive community designed for women at all career stages and across all disciplines within physical activity, exercise, and sport. Whether you are a practitioner, researcher, academic, or involved in any other professional role, this network is for you. We aim to foster collaboration, professional growth, and empowerment, providing a platform for knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and connection. Our goal is to support the diverse needs and experiences of women working in the sector, helping to bridge gaps, elevate voices, and promote equity across the island. Join us in creating a stronger, more inclusive professional network that champions the development and success of women in our field. Together, we can inspire and drive meaningful change in physical activity, exercise, and sport.

Our vision is that this All-Island network will provide a forum for professional women working across all domains, to develop a community of practice for personal and professional development. 

 

2025 SAVE THE DATE

Following on from our inaugural event last year, the next míde connect event will take place in Farnham Estate Spa & Golf Resort Co. Cavan on Wednesday 7th May from 7.30pm and Thursday 8th May 10am - 3.30pm. The theme of the event is ‘Visible & Connected’, at this event you will have the opportunity to hear the experiences of women working in this area, explore the importance of allyship, to network and forge new connections.

• Wednesday's Fireside Chat features two incredible voices in women’s sport Dr. Katie Liston & Conor Meyler discussing "Using Your Voice: Opportunities and Challenges of Advocating for Change in Women’s Sport". A conversation you won’t want to miss!

• Thursday's MC will be Aoife Sheehan, a lecturer & researcher in sports journalism and PR at University of Limerick who also has 20+ years of experience in Sport, Marketing, PR & Comms!
