Irene Hogan is a lecturer in the Department of Sport, Leisure & Childhood Studies in MTU Cork. Irene’s research focuses on women in sport and particularly women in coaching. She completed her PhD on the experiences of volunteer women coaches in ladies Gaelic football. Her current research evaluates programmes for women and girls in Gaelic Games. Irene is an active coach and coach developer within Gaelic Games.
