míde people: research disciplines
Postgraduate Research (PGR) Group
Dr Leanne Coll

The míde Postgraduate Research (PGR) Group is a cross-institutional community for postgraduate students engaged in research related to women and girls in sport, exercise, physical activity, and health.
Aligned with míde's vision of advancing interdisciplinary, impactful research across the island of Ireland, this group provides a space for connection, collaboration, and development among emerging researchers.
Our mission is to support postgraduate researchers in shaping the future of research and practice by fostering peer-to-peer learning, amplifying postgraduate voices, and offering opportunities to grow within a supportive, interdisciplinary environment.
The PGR group welcomes master’s by research and PhD students from any discipline whose work aligns with Míde’s core themes. We hope this group will serve as a space to share your work, connect with others, and build your research network.

Throughout the year, the group hosts a range of both online and in-person events including skill-building workshops and guest speaker sessions, postgraduate student-led conferences, collaborative projects and dissemination initiatives, and informal networking opportunities. Together, we are building a strong community of emerging researchers committed to driving forward impactful, inclusive research that improves the health, wellbeing, participation and performance of women and girls in and through sport, exercise and physical activity.
